Drunk Driver Hits Front Curb Of Long Island Convenience Store, Police Say

An alleged drunk driver was arrested after hitting the front curb and a firework storage box in front of a Long Island convenience store.

Juan Contreras Garcia, age 39, was arrested on Monday, April 5, following the incident at the Mr. Roberts Convenience Store, at 300 Front St., in Greenport, said the Southold Police.

According to investigators, Garcia was driving a 2005 Dodge Ram pickup and was pulling into the parking lot of the store when he struck the curb and a firewood storage box located in front of the store. 

A store employee called police after he found Contreras Garcia in an intoxicated condition behind the wheel, police said.

 Police responded and found Contreras Garcia, of Greenport, to be intoxicated. 

He was arrested transported to HQ, processed, and held for arraignment. 

His vehicle was impounded in compliance with Suffolk County DWI Seizure Law for a prior DWI conviction.
